Stranger in a strange land...
3:21 For the first time since moving to Spain I have felt like an
outsider. A simple request for a document a while back meant 4 hours
of bouncing around the city from one office to the other. A paper
missing here, a document missing there, going back to the first
office to get it, and so on... ad infinitum.
At least as a member of the European Union, I get to do things the
"easy" way. I have new found respect for all those people of all
colors who live here and have to spend hours in line, with little
information or help from any officials, just to hear that they didn't
bring a document they didn't know they needed. And the following week
they are back in line. That is no way to treat anyone, wherever they
come from. I am not talking about Spain in particular (as a matter of
fact, except for an "acid" encounter, everybody was helpful and nice
to me), it is what I have seen everywhere in the so-called civilized
world.
Moving money from country to country is easier than moving people...
9:46 Nice dinner as always at Murivecchi in Barcelona. If you are in
town and fancying some authentic Italian food, check it out.
